The Hexer - Gilroy of Gryphonstone by Gvozdi The Hexer - Gilroy of Gryphonstone by Gvozdi

Sketches drawn by Brownie97, posted with permission

Heavily inspired crossover based on the works of Andrzej Sapkowski and CDProject Red.

Ages ago, the world was forever rewritten after the Conjunction of Spheres. An event that brought many beings into existence, but have also forced equine and other sentient species to live alongside the constant threat of monsters and magic. Gilroy of Gryphonstone was a young fledgling, taken from his home and forced to become part of the School of the Wolf. The Hexer Guild is comprised of nomadic, mutated monster slayers who live for no noble deed. Hexers live for their profession, that is - to kill monsters for money. Gilroy travels through the realm of Te'mareia and its many neighbors, a continent often besieged by the threat of war, famine and of course monsters.

I like the look.  What's mutated about him?

Cat-like eyes, organs capable of ingesting intoxicants that amplify certain perceptions and abilities, quick reflexes, somewhat above average strength, strong metabolism, ages slower and most significantly - heals faster at the cost of uglier scars

Initially, still mortal
Monsters pose significant risk over fighting normies (ree) meaning they must rely entirely on skill, potions and blade oils
Master swordsmanship puts them at the edge but a crossbolt to the head or a pitchfork to the chest kills them all the same

Can eat stuff that would make a billy goat puke, but prefers a decent meat meal like any other Gryphon

Another great mutation: sterile
Oh boy

A nice platter.  As for the sterility, well, I'm sure there are some other mutated children to adopt if he decides he's up for fatherhood.

This is based on the Witcher lore, yeah?  I haven't played the games but I'm somewhat familiar with the lore.

Fatherhood isn't something common for Hexers
They are not the type to go peacefully in their beds, rather a damp cave and swimming in their own blood

I am a huge fan of the games, but I admit I am more or less basing this off the lore of the books rather than the exaggerated direction of other media
And while I enjoy the games, I accept them as an alternative canon and thus, I am making a story following the canon of the books rather than the games
